It was the IPO at my first company, Scient, that showed me firsthand the enormous impact financial markets can have on business. In the six years following, I worked on both the consulting and development sides of enterprise software. I learned that client relationshipbuilding and project management were the most rewarding for me, and I never forgot the effects of that IPO. This learning, combined with my long-time interest in math, led me to make the switch into financial services via business school.
Tuck appealed to me because it not only had a comprehensive general management curriculum but extremely strong ties to Wall Street. I was also impressed by how much more passionate Tuck's alumni seemed about their experience than alumni from other schools. But most of all, I chose Tuck because I could sense that its uniquely close-knit environment would enable me to feel comfortable taking risks to maximize my learning.
