Reunion 2008
A record number of alumni, partners, and families returned to Hanover for Reunion 2009—more than 800 in all! The weather was sunny and crisp and the foliage was spectacular. During the weekend, alums and their families enjoyed a special panel on the credit crisis, featuring professors, alumni, and students; Osman TALL classes with Professors Keller, Slaughter, Finkelstein, and Vogel; a wine and cheese reception; a Saturday morning fun run; a wellness presentation by the former head of Canyon Ranch; golf; cocktails; class dinners; and much more. We cannot wait to do it all again next fall for the classes ending in 4s and 9s on October 9-11, 2009.

Top Tech Toys

One of the top picks |
Toys under $25 that mix basic fun with technology topped the list of the Top Tech Toys for 2008. The rankings, released by Tuck's Center for Digital Strategies, were made by six Tuck students under the direction of Professor M. Eric Johnson, the center's director. Johnson, who teaches management and supply chain operations, follows the toy industry. "With the deepening recession, consumers are more cautious than ever. That means the most successful tech toys will be ones that use technology to create excitement without significantly adding to the product cost," he says.

Boat Race
How many Tuckies does it take to race a dragon? About 10. That's the number of alums who teamed up for the MBA Dragon Boat Race on Switzerland's Lake Zurich last August. With teams from 11 top schools competing, the Tuck boat placed fourth, coming in behind Duke, London Business School, and a local EMBA school. "We had a lot of fun. It was awesome to get Tuckies flying in from all over Europe to compete. And we’ll do better next year!" says Stefan Muehlemann T'04, one of the racers. Tuck alumni on board included: Pauke Corstens T’05, Sonya D'Souza T'04, Thomas Gerster T’99, Peter Huber T'63, Rahul Jain T'05, Markus Koch T’00, Ray Morin T’01, Stefan Muehlemann T’04, Liz Nordlie T'95, and Anna Vichniakova T'05. |
